A: The Taino Bay Beach is a beautiful sandy beach lounge with a lazy river pool,  restaurants and bars; it includes a hammocks area, a shaded area and beautiful tropical scenery with views of the Atlantic Ocean, the pier where the ships dock and the mountain landscape of Puerto Plata. Other local beaches are less than a 5 minute drive away, many great ones including Playa Dorada and Cosita Rica.

Q: How far is the port from town?

A: The Taino Bay port is located within walking distance to the heart of Puerto Plata’s historic district, pretty close to many landmarks and interesting spots.

Q: Is there a list of available shore excursions?

A: Yes, you can book any of a long list of available Taino Bay shore excursions that include city tours, local beaches, museums, eco tours, catamaran charters and much more.

Q: What type of activities does the port have?

Q: Can anyone visit Taino Bay?

A: Yes, cruise passengers scheduled with ships that stop at the port when cruising in the Caribbean will have access to the port facilities. Royal Caribbean, Virgin Cruises, Celebrity Cruises and many other cruise operators include the port in their Western Caribbean trips. As of this writing, the port is not open to the general public which has not booked a cruise coming to this port.

Q:  What about food and drinks at the port?

A: Taino Bay has several restaurants and bars, including one dedicated to local Dominican cuisine ( San Mangu ), also Mexican such as Casa Palapa and Taco Lover. Q: Is there transportation available at Taino Bay?

A: Yes, the port has taxi service for transfers to and from the city, also for excursions. You can also step outside and get taxi service from anywhere in the city.

Q: How far is the port from Sosua and Cabarete?

A: Taino Bay is about 35 minutes away driving time from Sosua and 5 more minutes towards Cabarete, it does takes longer at peak hours.
